We love us some Dawn of War and now that Relic is back in control we’re even more exciting about the newest addition to the Warhammer universe!

The PSP is warming up to me again with many of the newer games that are appearing from Asia. From Loco Roco now to Patapon, a lovely, hyper-stylish title where you take on the role of God to the Patapon. You lead their charges fighting evil invaders via drum-based patterns and watch as little black squigglies attack and kill out of control red squirmies which sometimes resemble dragons, sometimes not. Now Sony, what is going on with Limbo!!!?!?!

Toyata goes Viral, by placing a Toyota truck into World of Warcraft and overdubbing it with a humorous homage to Leeroy Jenkins. I wonder though, how many level 70 mages would drive a Tundra 4×4?

Having trudged through as much Gears of War I can stand for the moment and going through Lost Planet in a few evenings, I’ve been looking forward to what my next purchase for the 360 is going to be. A stealthy action-horror title, Rain (Vampire’s Rain in Japan), looks like it’s going to be it! With a heap of Japanese science-fiction, enough dark corners to move a city into, raging vampires and stealth-action gear second to Splinter Cell’s, Rain takes you to a suburban Los Angeles, overrun with vampires who are than willing to turn you into their next meal. You as the player are the vampire hunter, using technology to determine who among the city are actually dormant vampires, all taking place in a gothic-inspired rendition of LA, which features a much-touted weather and water effects system to enhance the immersion and give you the feeling you’re stuck in a water-soaked vampire hell.

Having played around with developing on the Torque Engine in the past, I still like to pop in and see what’s going on with the enhancement of the engine and related tools from time to time. That’s how I came upon Dreamlords and whoa was I surprised. The power of Torque is starting to really shine and Dreamlords looks to be an extremely interesting title. Combining an MMORPG with traditional RTS battled and long-term tactical strategy, Dreamlords looks to be a must for any indie games and MMO fan.

Wow! That’s all I can say. Many think of me as a Sony-hater, but I’ll prove them wrong here by saying how amazing this looks, but oh, this is for he PS2! Granted, give the devs a few years and $30 or $40 million dollars and they could pump something even more beautiful out on the PS3, but, who can afford a PS3 plus games, plus accessories anyways?

Crytek recently released a new DirectX 10 trailer for their upcoming FPS, Crysis, showing the world how things is done. What these folks are doing with their technology is beyond belief, but then again, with massive backers pumping lots and lots of money into them I’m not surprised what can be done.

Though the UMPC seems to have dropped off the face of the planet, it still seems that some people are actually still making them, as well as using them! Not the type to ever miss out on a chance to carry games around, avid gamers were once mighty excited about the new UMPCs from Microsoft, with thoughts of high-end mobile gaming becoming a reality. Excitement which eventually turned into mild interest and then eventually nothing but a distant memory as the reality of an extremely high price, unfriendly controls and presumed lack of power sank in. Well paint us blue in the face, because one avid gamer shows us we should be eating crow by sticking F.E.A.R. onto the Samsung Q1 UMPC and posting a video for all in the world to drool over. The Samsung Q1 will set you back around $1400 USD and sports a 900MHz Celeron M processor, an Intel 915GMS video chip set, 512MB DDR2 SDRAM and a 40gb HDD using an integrated 802.11b/g Wi-Fi card, plus Bluetooth 2.0 to network. Not an ideal portable gaming machine by any means, but, running F.E.A.R. things can’t really be all that bad!

Another in a long line of Wii “killer apps” has arrived in the US and that is none other than the next installment of the Wario Ware series. Tons of insane mini-games that take you through the Wario Ware universe, Smooth Moves integrates the Wii controller into the mix, allowing players to do absolutely silly, but enjoyable things, like pumping up tires, dropping controllers and writing letters on the screen. Also of difference is the ability to do up to 12 player multiplay (4 controllers x 3), which could almost fill an average living room full of flailing and confused friends. Mini-games ahoy!

Since it’s been more than oh, 24 hours, I have to talk about the Wii again. Sorry. But what better way to get a mention of one of my favorite next generation consoles in than by combining a post about it with the Roomba, another innovative product in it’s own right. For those who don’t know what a Wii is, there’s no hope for you, but if you’re questioning about the Roomba, there I can help. The Roomba is a disc-shaped mechanoid which performs the simple duty of cleaning your hardwood or tiled floors (and extremely thin carpeting). Automatically, via simple algorithms such as spiral cleaning, wall-fallowing and random walk angle-changing when it collides with another object. A major part of the Roomba’s popularity, other than the fact it cleans your floors for you with minimal fuss, is that the creators have opened up a certain degree of the robot’s programming, creating an open-language for hacking and modding. This has led to some pretty outstanding mods, such as the one we see here in this video, where a dashing your university student has hacked his Roomba to follow the Wiimote’s motions. Creating a symphony of little Roomba’s would be an evil-Wii-genius’ dream come true!
