Alan Wake

CVG has an extremely thorough preview of Remedy’s upcoming action/adventure thriller, Alan Wake, including a few new screen shots showing off the visual candy Remedy is pushing into the title with the help of Intel, Nvidia and Microsoft. The much anticipated follow-up to the Max Payne series, Alan Wake actually feels as if it IS the follow up to Max Payne, with Remedy’s signature art and atmosphere style shining through every screen shot we’ve seen. Now where’s that follow up to Max Payne we heard about a year or so ago? Hmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder…

Alan Wake

Alan Wake, the follow-up from Remedy after their hit releases of Max Payne, is beginning to look like the tech demo / postergame for Microsoft’s next-generation gaming platforms. With more information starting to surface about the game (well, minus any real gameplay information), the screenshots being released are starting to look more and more amazing with every new shot released. This time, we have a few new environment shots, though, no official word on whether they are for the Xbox 360 (we’d be REALLY amazed if they were for the 360) or Vista PC. Showing some of the greatest environmental lighting I’ve ever seen, I’m getting more excited about this title every time I see it. Let’s just hope Remedy does a little bit more with their character animation this time around, cause, come no, no next-gen title can be feature a main character as stiff as Max Payne.

Alan Wake full video presentation from Intel Quad Processor presentation

Alan Wake

YouTube saves the day, again. Recently, Intel held a huge presentation to showoff their upcoming monster quad core processors, which will hopefully begin appearing at the end of this year (preferably on new iMacs, which I plan on buying). To show off the power of the Quad Procs, Remedy was invited on-stage to demo their new upcoming psychological thriller, Alan Wake (A. Wake), running on a monster Intel Duo Quad Core system, overclocked to 3.73 GHz and an Nvidia graphics card. Though not the highest of quality video, one can see that Remedy has done an amazing job at recreating Twin Peak’s lush and open environment, which I would wager to say was one of their goals. It’s a shame their animation system looks as clunky and ugly as Max Payne’s.
