Green Monster Games, a new startup game developer from famous Everquest player and Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, comic icon Todd McFarlane and best-selling author R.A. Salvatore are currently hiring a lead programmer with Gamebryo experience to join in developing a massive multiplayer title. With a powerhouse art and creative team like Salvatore and Todd McFarlane as directors this is kind of exciting, with both having vast experience in creating extremely stylish, in-depth worlds. More information as it becomes available.

Official quote from Green Monster Games after the jump..

Green Monster Games, LLC is preparing to burst onto the online gaming scene in epic and remarkable fashion. A company founded on character and integrity, GMG will turn the industry on its ear with a product release and business model never before seen. Todd McFarlane (yes, the Todd McFarlane of www.spawn.com fame) is serving as GMG’s Art Director. R.A. Salvatore (yes, the R.A. Salvatore who created the world’s most famous dark elf found at www.rasalvatore.com), is GMG’s Creative Director. Collaborating with GMG President Curt Schilling (he of the 2004 curse-breaking Red Sox and avid hardcore MMOer), this trio is assembling the world’s most creative talent to produce what will be seen as the most epic, industry-changing game in the history of online gaming.

Limbo, the beautiful platformer from Arnt Jensen, Danish artist and game designer, has announced that they are hiring. Always good news to see an indie game company hiring, Arnt is looking for a developer (C++) to aid in the creation of Limbo, a game which is being backed by the Danish government to some degree. The artwork is brilliant and Arnt certainly knows his way around the industry, having done artwork in the past for major developers. Someone take this job quickly and get Limbo out (preferrably via Steam and/or Manifesto!).

Searching for job offers within the industry is sometimes a major major pain. When your connections don’t pan out and you have to start searching through the wants ads it’s always a confusing myriad of horribly designed search engines, slimy recruiting agencies and job offers that are trapped inside of frames making it difficult for you to print or send to yourself. Those days are over now, thanks to some enterprising game developers in the UK who put together a meta-search site that collects data and offers from some of the largest games industry job search sites and recruiters, displaying them in a simple and easy to use interface. Sure you eventually could get dumped off to the same recruiting agencies you were trying to avoid, but at least your route there was a nice and easy one. You’ll notice that most of the offers are in the UK, but a good number of EU, US and Asian jobs are being added and as more sources are added to the system, a wider variety of job locales are becoming more available. Good job lads, keep up the great work.
