Rockstar Games appoints Gary Dale as COO, no Bully sequel?

Bully

In a further sign of Take Two solidifying their hold over Rockstar Games, the company has appointed industry veteran Gary Dale as Chief Operating Officer of the famed GTA developer. Most recently European managing director of Capcom, Dale was previously the president of games at BMG until Take-Two acquired them in 1998. What this means for Sam Houser’s control over the company remains to be seen but if any of the gossip is to be believed, around the time of the closure of Rockstar Vienna in May, a behind the scenes power struggle has ensued, resulting in a small exodus from the company. In other news, a games analyst has gone on record questioning the success of Rockstar’s recent media storm, Bully, estimating it to see less than a million sell-through worldwide, not exactly a hit (but also not really that bad). But taking into consideration the title took more than 5 years to get out of the door, it doesn’t exactly look promising that a Bully 2 would be coming out anytime soon, if at all.

It sold how many copies now? atleast 1 million which is a mild success, but think what would have happened if they hadn’t stuck it on the ps2 and gone for the gc and the xbox. I own a ps2 and I still wouldn’t have bought it, I wanted it for the xbox. They’re coming out with an updated version for the wii and the 360, confirmed.

Bully was a AWESOME game, I’m 27 and at first I thought it wouldn’t be very good at all but, just like other gamers I’m sure, I ran out of titles to rent and decided to try it and I absolutely loved it. I think the only reason that it didn’t meet sales expectations was that it was released around the time the new consoles came out or was about to. I am glad to hear that it will come out for the wii and 360 because im sure it will generate more popularity for the game, its hard to find a lot of people who give bully a bad review. And the fact that it has the gta engine just makes it better because to date the only games that have a WIDE variety of things to do and places to go in them are the gta series and bully.

I forgot about “Just Cause” it had a huge area to explore somewhat like gta and bully.
